Overview: Are you ready to be impressed? If not, you’d better get ready! Why? In this course, you are going to get a broad overview of God’s creation. As you begin to learn its secrets, you will become more and more impressed with its majesty and complexity. The sheer grandeur of it all should leave you in awe of God’s mighty power. If you learn nothing else in this course, learn to appreciate the wonder of God’s creation!

Required Materials

· Apologia: Exploring Creation with Biology, 2^nd Edition Textbook Only : $65 (Test booklet is not needed)

· 3-ring binder

· Blue or black pen and pencils

· Graph paper

· Color pencils

· Student Compound Microscope (40X magnification , coarse and fine adjustment knobs):

o There are only two microscope labs for this course. I encourage sharing microscopes, so, if you are planning on purchasing; find someone to share the cost with you! There is NO need to purchase a microscope. We will have enough microscopes to share as a class. Several students have already purchased microscopes and agreed to share. In addition, Joanna has volunteered to get us rental microscopes that may be free or very cheap.

· Accessible to a printer and/or copier. I will be e-mailing all class notes, handouts, worksheets, and tests. It will be the student’s responsibility to print off required documents and bring to class each week. There will be approximately 25-50 pages to print per unit.

Laboratory Fee: $14 per student. $6.35 per student **This fee is based on 13 students, may decrease or increase** Please bring class fee to first WHEEL class on September 1.

·Household items: $15 You will be asked to bring in certain items throughout the year (vinegar, baking soda, detergent, etc).

9 Units: Scientific Investigation, Laboratory Skills, Biochemistry, Cell Structure and Function, Cell Division, Genetics, DNA/RNA, Natural Selection, and Ecology.
